# Grammar of Stewardship — Overview The Grammar of Stewardship is not a UI grammar, not a visual language, not typography. It is the grammar governing how human understanding is composed, preserved, and transferred. Every experience across PosterityOS speaks this grammar. ## Founding belief > Understanding has structure. Good stewardship preserves that > structure. ## Where it sits ```text PosterityOS Constitution → WHAT the system is Human Stewardship Guides → HOW responsible people build it Stewardship Pattern Lang. → WHICH recurring human situations recur Grammar of Stewardship → the language every experience is composed from Product Architecture → which compositions each product speaks Implementation → how each product speaks them ``` ## Foundation (v1.0, ratified 2026-07-13) - **15 elements**: Purpose, Context, Invitation, Question, Perspective, Evidence, Rationale, Decision, Contribution, Reflection, Continuity, Memory, Understanding, Capability, Posterity. - **6 ordering rules**: Purpose → Context → Understanding → Contribution → Decision → Continuity → Posterity. - **6 composition invariants**: rationale beside decision, questions open understanding, memory is preserved understanding, continuity survives interruption, capability is the outcome, posterity is capability across time. - **9 non-ordering relationships**: support / produces / belongs-with. - **7 validation checks** for any composition. ## Constitutional guarantees - Ratified elements and rules are frozen. Refinements land in the Grammar history log. - Products may introduce new concepts; products may not contradict the grammar. Deviations require explicit constitutional justification recorded in history. - No UI, code, or technology vocabulary appears anywhere. ## Location - Modules: `src/platform/stewardship/grammar/` - Tests: `src/test/stewardship-grammar.test.ts` - Docs: `docs/hsg/grammar-*.md`
