# HSG Pattern Language

Inspired by Christopher Alexander's *A Pattern Language*, the HSG
Pattern Language is a permanent index of recurring stewardship
concepts. Patterns are the shared vocabulary of the Guidelines: any
volume may reference a pattern; any future product may inherit one.

## Rules

- Every pattern is implementation-independent — no product,
  interface, code, or technology names.
- The index is append-only. New patterns may be added; existing
  patterns may be cross-referenced further but not renamed.
- `patternsAreImplementationIndependent()` guards the invariant in
  tests.
