# HSG Publication Architecture The Human Stewardship Guidelines (HSG) are a constitutional publication — not implementation documentation. They exist to teach people how to build systems that care for human understanding, and must remain valuable even if every current PosterityOS product disappears. ## Constitutional layers | Layer | Question | Location | | --- | --- | --- | | PosterityOS Constitution | WHAT the system is | `src/platform/constitution/` (existing) | | Human Stewardship Guidelines | HOW responsible people build it | `src/platform/stewardship/` | | Stewardship Canon | WHY it exists | `src/platform/stewardship/library/canon.ts` | These three are distinct but inseparable. Each is append-only. ## Publication object `HSG_PUBLICATION` (`src/platform/stewardship/library/publication.ts`) carries the metadata a future reader needs to understand the work: founding belief, purpose, audience, applicable domains, relationships to Constitution and Canon, and the five Design Ethic questions. ## Library `HumanStewardshipLibrary` composes: - Publication metadata - Three Books (Foundations, Human Experience, Institutions) - Pattern Language index - Stewardship Canon - Amendment Log - Scholar Corpus - Edition History It does NOT own the volume registry — the registry (`src/platform/stewardship/hsg-registry.ts`) remains canonical for volumes, doctrines, and principles. The Library references volumes by id through Books. ## Purity All library modules are pure data + pure derivations. No I/O, no React, no product coupling. The Library must remain portable across future technologies.
