Volume I: Foundations of Human Stewardship. Ratified: 2026-07-13. Applies to: every product, capability, surface, developer resource, AI system, and experience within the PosterityOS ecosystem.
Volume I states the ten axioms every later HSG volume references. It is universal. Implementations may express these principles differently across products; implementations may not redefine them.
The ten principles#
I. People Are Not Resources — participants in understanding, not inputs to a machine.
II. Attention Is a Trust — attention is given, not taken.
III. Preparation Is Respect — never transfer avoidable preparation costs onto another person.
IV. Context Is Care — information without context creates burden; context transforms information into understanding.
V. Preserve Intent — the meaning behind the artifact is the work.
VI. Humans Deserve Dignity — no shame, no ranking, no public comparison.
VII. Quiet Contribution Matters — the person in the corner and the person at the whiteboard arrive with equal weight.
VIII. AI Serves Stewardship — AI supports the steward; AI does not become the steward.
IX. Systems Should Create Capability — leave every person more capable than they arrived.
X. Design for Posterity — serve people not present yet.
