What HSG is#
The Human Stewardship Guidelines are a universal human standard governing how PosterityOS systems are designed, built, maintained, and experienced. They apply across PosterityOS, HeadsUp, LOX, Atlas, future products, developer resources, AI systems, APIs, documentation, internal tools, and external experiences.
What HSG is not#
- Not a HeadsUp feature.
- Not a design preference.
- Not marketing language.
- Not a replacement for the PosterityOS Constitution.
Core principle#
Understanding deserves stewardship. Every system created under PosterityOS principles must protect human attention, dignity, judgment, contribution, relationships, memory, and continuity.
Relationship to the PosterityOS Constitution#
- The Constitution defines what the system is.
- The HSG defines how humans build and care for the system.
- Neither replaces the other. They operate together.
Constitutional pointers live in src/platform/stewardship/hsg-constitution-link.ts — declarative only; HSG never imports from @/platform/blue-ocean.

Boundary principles#
- Principles may guide implementation. Implementation may not redefine principles.
- Products may express stewardship differently. Products may not create exceptions to stewardship.
- AI systems and developer tools inherit stewardship constraints — opt-out is not modeled.
Language governance#
hsg-language-governance.ts flags drift toward engagement optimization, attention extraction, manipulation, human scoring or ranking, judgment replacement, and treating people as metrics.
AI governance#
hsg-ai-governance.ts encodes: AI supports stewardship. AI does not become stewardship. AI may assist preparation, organization, preservation, and continuity. AI may not replace responsibility, judgment, relationships, or accountability.
