  1. The ten checks
  2. Where it lives

Every future volume must pass formal ratification before it becomes part of the Human Stewardship Guidelines. Ratification is a pure evaluation, expressed as ten checks. The result is a RatificationReport.

The ten checks#

  1. Universal applicability — no product or growth-vocabulary terms.
  2. Human dignity — no exploitation, manipulation, coercion, deceit.
  3. Attention protection — attention is never treated as a resource to capture or maximize.
  4. AI boundaries — AI is never cast as Steward, owner, or decider.
  5. Constitution compatibility — at least one declared linkage.
  6. Continuity — the volume carries an explicit history trail.
  7. Non-manipulation — no dark-pattern or persuasion vocabulary.
  8. Language governance — no "user" / "customer" depersonalization.
  9. Institutional compatibility — framed for any institution.
  10. Historical consistency — every referenced volume already exists.

Where it lives#

src/platform/stewardship/library/ratification.ts. The function evaluateRatification(candidate, priorVolumes) returns the report. Registry-level append (ratifying the volume) happens separately once the report passes.
